COMPOSITIONS
My journey to London, 2nd fortnight of July
The second half of July I was at Twickenham, about forty miles south of London.
I met a group of twenty four mates from all places of Valencian Comunity from Orihuela to Castellón.
I didn't Know anyone but from the first day we were friendly together.
Our residence was at half an hour in bus, to the academy in Twickenham, in a village called Surbiton, so it was an important condition about to the meals, becouse we take the breakfast and the lunch and dinner in a pub just cosed the LAL, which was the name of the Academy where we were studing.
We waked up about half past six in morning and we went out to Twickenham at half past seven in a private bus.
Breakfast was a small English breakfast with coffe, tea, toast, melmelade, butter, sugar, kellogs, juice, a piece of fruit and water.
Classes began at quarter to nine and lasted to half past two. We took a break for half an hour at a quarter past ten and went out to take the lunch at a quarter past twelve and went on the class at one o'clock.
The clasmates were sympathetics and very open persons who were from diferents countries in the world: Brazil, Germany, Italy, China, etc.
They were younger and everyone was for diferents some weeks.
The most recently are us and the anciantest was a german matewho was staying two mounth ago.
Every monday some students ended a cours and another began it.
The teachers were wonderful and experimentate persons. One fo them was a english teacher besides singer and musician. The other was younger and taught us the system education in Britain and how was her way of work in class besides childs games and another resources [ri'so:s] for teaching in our spanish classes.
She speak enough fast for me and it was dificult for understanding her.
Normally, after class we were going to London by train. It lasted twenty minuts and we can see diferents neighbours in the city and several important museums as Tate Modern, the British Museum and the National Gallery and shops as Emanens or the great Coven Garden or Harrows.
They were filled all days, so, for exemple, the British Museum are the most visited of all turits atraction in Britain.Half of the arqueologic rest of the world are in him.
We went up in the London Eye, a gigant fair at the shore the Thames in front of Parlament. From above you can see all City and the people look ants down there on the street...
We almost visited another turist places as Hapmon Court near the river or the Botanic Garden in Oxford. Ther I took the oportunity to buy some books in Oxford University Bookshop.
But besides all that, laughing with my mates was the best. I did'n laugh in that way long time ago.
Some evening we took some beer in a pub, and I used take a pint of guines beer. Then, when I had taken half pint I begin to lough and it was very amused.
Classmates were very kinds and cheerful, and also the english people who I met.
I come back very motivated for learning english more and more and the end I would like very much go there to teach spanish or another subject in some school for several years or in summer for teaching spanish to english people.
To conclude, in my opinion PALE's program is a very good experience for people as I for begining to speack and learning english, but two weeks are very short time for achive a significative learning.
Curiously another spanish teachers from, for example, Castilla La Mancha, País Vasco or Catalonia were there for three weeks.
